Tablevogue Celebrates the Mommy Blogger Culture
Posted by Jane Birdwell, CEO & Founder of Tablevogue on 28th Apr 2016
In honor of Mother’s Day 2016, the team at Tablevogue, want to honor the community of powerful, strong women that are worthy to be called moms and bloggers! We’ll never forget our roots and the fact that it was the monster push from mommy bloggers that put us on the map and we are forever grateful. For some the term ‘mommy blogger’ may have a cutesy connotation to it - but there’s certainly nothing ‘cutesy’ about the community and culture that has sprung from it. The sheer force of this community made up of talented, strong-minded, creative mothers has made a huge impact on what it means to be a modern mom.
The modern mom is resourceful; she has used the advent of the internet as an outlet for her ideas, in some cases, as a way to generate income at home, a platform for her business, and of course, as women tend to do, as a way to uplift and support other women, ultimately creating something much bigger than herself.
Blogging for stay-at-home or entrepreneurial moms has changed everything; it has allowed women to share their experiences, points of views and ideas with other women and moms. It has created a forum for mothers and women to share their ideas, a place that validates and builds on feelings, experiences and opinions and has even served as psychotherapy for women at home. Beyond the community itself, mommy bloggers have influenced culture, changing it’s view of stay at home mothers overall.
Thanks to mommy bloggers, this group that maybe 50 years ago was looked at as a quiet group, dealing only in domestic affairs, has been given an outlet and a voice. This voice is a wise one, full of wit, practical advice, useful innovations, and charisma - it’s a voice that corporate America now clamors to have a conversation with.
The mommy blogger culture has turned into a valuable community and a force to not be overlooked. 14% of all American mothers are also mommy bloggers, according to a study commissioned by H&R Block. This group is a massive target audience for top marketers and Fortune 500 Companies, who now spend millions trying to reach this culture.
With over 3,900,000 mommy blogs in america alone, it was hard choosing just 10 for our countdown. These are just some of our favorite bloggers who juggle entrepreneurship and motherhood with style and grace. There are just so many that we adore and so little time. To anyone that we missed, we love you and celebrate you this mother’s day!
